Lord have mercy, look what the Theban Band has done. This is their Bagoas, which they say is based on Mary Renault's Persian Boy and not on the Alexander movie. If you want to check out the version on their site (better reproduction), here's the link: http://www.squidge.org/praxisters/persianboy.html   They also have a lovely art nouveau style dancing Bagoas up.  VERY inspirational.

This is much more how I imagine Bagoas - a far more androgynous beauty than Francisco in the film. It's a lovely image altogether. Thanks for sharing it.

Hi there milady,
Haven't heard from you in a bit. Hope all's well.Glad you liked the pic.

I actually thought of you when I saw those last night. They're just gorgeous and, yes they do remind me of Mary Renault and my very tattered copy of The Persian Boy which I reread last year.

I'm madly in love with your Elladan/Elrohir, so I imagine I should read this one as well.

Ah a new voice, methinks. It's great to hear from a fan of my twinfic. (I miss them myself - kinda thinking of a new short one - Short! I hear my beta snorting in disbelief.) Thanks for thinking of me in connection with this gorgeous Bagoas pic - can't think of anything nicer. *g* If you decide to read my PB fic, would love to hear back. (And I have a yellow, tattered copy of PB myself.)

Mmm, yes. Well [mumbles incoherently] I've had this Elladan/OC fic in my head for a bit - takes place just after Dark to Dawn. We'll see if it gets out of my head and onto the computer.
Yeah, I'm totally in love with this Bagoas, completely and utterly. He looks so young, as he should. What a gorgeous chest that of a dancer. Really I think TB took the name Gazelle Eyes to heart here.

Anything twins would be lovely and, well if it didn't turn out to be short, I can't imagine anyone would complain!

This picture reminds me of the guy who starred in a film called Crying Game (I just checked;) he's called Jaye Davidson),
Androgynous, exotic, mysterious, and so unbelievably beautiful!
Thanks for sharing, Elfscribe!

Funnily enough, when a bunch of us were discussing the casting of Bagoas long before Alexander came out, the only name I could come up with was 'Jaye Davidson - 20 years ago.' But he must be um, pretty mature by now.

I've heard that the Crying Game is good, never saw it. I did think that the gorgeous alien god Ra played by Jaye Davidson was the only worthwhile thing in Stargate. (Sorry Stargate fans.)And that was quite before I discovered slashy ways. The potential must have been there, eh? [wink] Given my vague memory of that actor, I can see what you mean. Guess I'll have to go rent the Crying Game.
