A friend just sent me this incredible vid of Chinese dancers doing Swan Lake with amazing acrobatics. The woman actually balances on this guy's head en pointe. Check it out.

Absolutely unbelievable! It's amazing what one culture can do with another's 'classics'... I'm sending this to my mum - she's a ballet afficionado.

And those frogs!!!

Frogs were amazing. And yeah, it may be a bit too acrobatic for traditional ballet enthusiasts, but wow, those Chinese.

Hon, can I ask where you got the link to this? When I clicked on the vid so I could send the link to my mother, I noticed that the URL was very long and made reference to LJ_toys which is a spy community that allows its users to trace other peoples' usage.

You can get to the same video with the much shorter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOqxSaW05p4&eurl

Yuck, thanks for that warning. A friend sent it to me. Will fix.

No problem! I know there are 2 lj_toys members on my flist, but I didn't think you were one of them. It was also interesting to see how they piggybacked onto the URL and helps explain how they do some of the tracing...

You might want to point it out to your friend too in case one of her friends is using the LJ spy thng on her.

You're seeing them? You lucky dog. That woman was so flexible, it made me hurt to look at her.

Totally cool. And the swan's dance partner wasn't bad either. Did you notice the spotter during that bit standing on his head?

**nods** I did! He was really as inconspicuous as a stray body could be, I guess - and he was certainly needed!

That is amazing. I can barely believe people can really do that. I'll have to send this to my daughter (who was a ballet dancer, but quit at 19). I am not sure if she will be amazed or appalled (she has very rigid/classic ideas about the subject), but she will certainly be impressed.

My daughter, who also dances ballet, was amazed. Yeah, maybe not so traditional, but trust the Chinese to take it to a new level. What do you think that woman weighs - 80 pounds? Such amazing balance. I'm in awe.
Hugs.

Extraordinary - love that you put this up; wonderful to watch. They are frogs at the beginning - very clever and perfect synchrony.
