And to celebrate in the spirit of the day, here's a drag queen dressed as Sarah Palin for the annual High Heel Drag Race in Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. I just love it!

OMG! I love it. Next year I am going to the Village and watching people. (So funny you posted a drag queen picture! I just put a pic up in response to a comment from you on my LJ where I claimed I looked like an aging drag queen--He looks way better than me and more imaginative by far). Better than Palin too, although he certainly has her style down.

Actually last year, I saw Galdriel and Celeborn in the Park Slope Brooklyn Halloween parade and did not have a camera. They were gorgeous.

Oh I'm sure the Village must be a trip on Halloween. Completely. (And you do NOT look like a drag queen.)

Here's some more pics. Some of these guys aren't half bad, but most are truly scary. http://dc.about.com/od/specialevents/ig/DC-Drag-Queen-Race-/IMG_2062.htm

Village must be a trip on Halloween.

I have not been in a few years. One year Laura and I went as Juliet and her nurse. That worked--we got a lot of attention from guy gays.

(And you do NOT look like a drag queen.)

My mother always told me not too argue when someone pays you a compliment, but just a couple of tiny points: the overdone eye makeup and the bad red lipstick was not flattering, not to mention that the kerchief looked like I was covering up the fact that I had no hair (I actually have good hair!).

He looks uncannily like her.

Happy Halloween!

I wonder - does he look like her, or does she look like him?

That's fabulous, Keiliss. I think we will never know for sure.

LOL! Hard to say. I love it though. Apparently Sarah Palin was a very popular costume this year. Especially love the price tag on the jacket.

Happy Halloween! We just ran out of candy after about 400 kids. (No, not joking.)

And I understand that Caribou Barbie is expected to be a popular costume in the Castro this year.

Same back. Holy hell, 400 kids. That's great. We didn't get one - just like last year. I think all the kids in this neighborhood grew up. Caribou Barbie sounds truly scary. Let's just pray she's not in the White House.

I love all of your pumpkins! I tried taking pictures of ours with varying success. I'll post tomorrow.

So glad that you and I were able to chat; we need another 5 hours or so, I think!!! (((hugs)))

Hi hon! Actually those are last year's pumpkins. We didn't do any this year. :-( Agreed, five more hours would be good. Hugs!!

Love Drag!Palin! :) Is that a $5000 dollar price tag on her jacket?

The pics from that race are priceless. Wish I could have been there. I can't tell what the amount is, but yes your eyes are sharp, it is in fact a price tag. The campaign apparently spent $150,000 to outfit her properly. So much for claiming that they're not elitist.

Love the line-up of pumpkins! Likewise, we didn't carve any this year, and negligent mother that I am, I left Rampaging Frodo (my son) in charge of treat distribution while I went out for the evening with my friend, "Danno" (nicknamed such because she writes Hawaii Five-O fan fic). We had a great evening at Mediterra, our favorite bar and restaurant in Princeton. They had a costume contest where I saw no Sara Palins, but three -- count 'em, three -- Jokers (cf. Dark Knight).

That faux Palin in the pic has the jaw jut down pat. :^D
